COVID-19 Policy/Procedures Update
Dear Friends and Family of Laurel Optometry,
Due to the COVID-19 “shelter-in-place” order, we will be closing our office until April 7, 2020 or until further notice.
We strive to provide the highest quality care to you in a safe environment. Therefore, we will be taking the following precautions:
All appointments will be canceled at this time, as routine eye examinations and checks are not considered “essential” medical services according to the Alameda County order. We will not be rescheduling any appointments until we hear that we are allowed to see patients. At that time, we will reach out to those who we had to cancel and reschedule accordingly.
Glasses and contact orders placed before March 16 will be processed, however, they will not be available until after the office is allowed to reopen. If this presents an urgent problem, please contact us at the email below.
If you would like to finalize your contact lens prescription and order contacts, please let us know. We can have them shipped to your home.
For any medical emergencies, we advise you to go to the nearest hospital or urgent care.
If you need to contact us, you can reach us by email (preferable), voicemail, or text. While we are closed, we will still be checking email and voicemail on a daily basis and will get back to you within 48 hours.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work together to get through this unprecedented situation. We consider you part of our Oakland family and are committed to providing you with quality eye care and customer service.
Please stay safe and healthy!
Warmest Regards,
Dr, Serene Ngin, Dr. Dorothy Okamoto and Staff
